Bedrock Dictate Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the maker of Bedrock Dictate for using the Bedrock Dictate app and your Bedrock Dictate account. Bedrock Dictate is a product of Made by Bedrock, a brand operated by Jamie Nudelman, a self-employed trader based in Malta ([business address]). In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Jamie Nudelman, trading as Made by Bedrock.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Bedrock Dictate.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and why. Our Refund Policy explains refunds.

2. Your account

• You need to be at least 16 to create an account.
• Give a real email address you can access. We use it to confirm your account and to help you reset your password.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens with your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password straight away and tell us at [email protected].
• One person per account.

3. Using Bedrock Dictate

We give you a personal, non-transferable right to install and use Bedrock Dictate on your own computers, as long as you follow these terms.

Please do not:

• Copy, resell, or redistribute the app, or change it, or try to take it apart to get its source code, except where the law allows it.
• Try to get around the free plan's limits, the app's security or ours, overload our servers, or access other people's accounts.
• Use Bedrock Dictate to break the law, or to record people who have not agreed to it where their consent is required.

4. Your dictations stay yours

Your dictations are yours. They are created and kept on your own computer, and we do not receive them: not your voice, not your text, not your dictation history. Bedrock Dictate is built so that this stays true.

The app keeps a diagnostics file on your computer with timings and technical errors, never your words. It is only sent to us if you choose to attach it to a support request.

You are responsible for what you dictate and where you paste it.

5. AI features and accuracy

Bedrock Dictate uses AI models on your computer to turn speech into text and, if you switch it on, to tidy that text. These models can make mistakes: wrong words, missed words, or changed meaning. Text is typed into whichever app is active when it is ready, so check where your cursor is. Check anything important before you send or rely on it, especially for medical, legal, financial or safety matters.

How fast Bedrock Dictate works depends on your computer. Settings shows a speed check for your PC.

6. Third-party components

Bedrock Dictate includes and downloads open-source software and models made by others, such as whisper.cpp, llama.cpp, and S1-mini by Superwhisper. Each comes with its own licence, listed in the app. Those licences apply to those parts.

7. Plans and payments

Bedrock Dictate has a free plan and a paid plan, Pro, billed monthly or yearly. Prices are shown on madebybedrock.com/flow and at checkout, and include or add sales tax and VAT as shown at checkout.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the payment itself.

• Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and the card you used is charged, until you cancel. Before a yearly plan renews, we email you a reminder 30 days, 7 days and 1 day ahead.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in the app (Profile, Manage subscription) or through the link on your Paddle receipt. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for and are not charged again.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
• Free trial. The 7-day Pro trial is free, needs no card, and is available once per person and once per computer.
• Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. If we do, we tell you at least 60 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

8. Changes and availability

We keep improving Bedrock Dictate and may add, change, or remove features. We try to keep the account service available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Dictation itself runs on your computer and keeps working offline once you are signed in.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect, and ask you to agree to the new version in the app before you carry on using your account.

9. Support and conduct

If you run into a problem, contact us at [email protected] or through the contact form in the help center. Every message is read by a person, and every message gets a reply, usually within 3 business days.

We value our customers and ask for the same courtesy in return. We do not tolerate abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour towards us or anyone who works with us. If it happens, we may end that conversation and, in serious or repeated cases, close the account as described in section 10.

10. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time in the app (Profile, Close account). If you have a paid subscription, cancel it first; the app lets you close your account once the time you paid for has ended. To have it closed sooner, or to have your details erased, email [email protected]. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep after you close your account and for how long.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Unless it is urgent or unlawful to do so, we tell you why first.

11. If Bedrock Dictate is sold or stops

• If Bedrock Dictate is sold, we may transfer these terms and your account to the new owner. We tell you before it happens. The new owner must keep the commitments in these terms for the period you have already paid for.
• If we stop offering Bedrock Dictate, we tell you at least 90 days ahead and stop all charges. Monthly plans end at the end of the month already paid for. Customers with a yearly plan get a version of the app that works on their computer without an account.

12. No warranty

Bedrock Dictate is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free or suit a particular purpose. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

13. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, or for losses caused by mistakes in transcriptions or by text typed into the wrong place. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country, state or province where you live, and can bring a claim there.
